“All About Writing” Author Panel Friday, October 13

The world of writing and publishing is changing every day. From the rise of self-publishing to movements for more diverse books, the writing world is full of unprecedented opportunities… and a lot for writers to think about.

This Friday, I’ll be joining four other authors on an “All About Writing” panel to discuss the nitty-gritty details of 2017’s literary landscape. If you’re interested in writing (or just in reading and listening), I’d love to have you join us for this live online event!

What will we be talking about? Everything related to the writing process, from writing routines to editing to publication strategies. There will be a book giveaway and opportunities for listeners to ask the authors questions. I’ll share the story of how my book The Modern Enneagram came to be, and how self-publishing and traditional publishing can work collaboratively rather than competitively.

I can’t wait to see you there!

Quiet Lightning Poetry Reading Video, “Mothernever”

Yesterday’s Quiet Lightning reading was fun and thematic, with a strong focus on place. It was also the first time I’ve read with buses and trolleys zooming in the background. Gotta love the San Francisco streets.

Here’s a brief video from the event. My poem begins, “My mother never went to Vegas.”
